Housing data may provide boost for Phoenix, local builders

downloadThe U.S. housing data for September to be released this week could show things are moving in a better direction, and provide a boost for Phoenix and local builders.

August wasn’t the best month for home sales, and with the National Association of Homebuilders releasing its index on Monday it will provide an early look at what’s going on, according to a report from Reuters.

There will be more numbers coming, but experts said they were expecting better things than the disappointing August numbers that came on the heels of strong numbers from June and July.

Home building in Phoenix has been slow to recover after the recession, but there is building going on, and people are buying homes. Granted it’s getting tough to find homes in the lower price ranges, but there are more homes for sale.

Of course, the national numbers may not mean a thing in Arizona, but it will at least give some indications of where the market is heading.
