Phoenix showed improvement in the Forbes list of The Best Places for Business and Careers for 2015.
Coming in at No. 44 – up 12 positions from No. 56 last year – Phoenix ranked No. 121 in cost of doing business, No. 61 in job growth and No. 103 for education.
While up from 2014, the metro is still far below its 2012 top 15 rank.
Business attraction competitor Denver moved up from No. 4 to the top of the list for 2015. Raleigh, North Carolina; Portland; Provo, Utah; and Atlanta rounded out the top five positions. Seattle and Salt Lake City both placed in the top 10, while Dallas was No. 15 and Austin landed at No. 21.
Arizona legislative leaders always focus on cost of doing business as a defining measure for making the state more competitive; however, in Forbes‘ rankings the top metros in cost of business did not fare well in overall rank as a best place for business.
